Errors while importing data from Excel to SQL Server and their solutions - 4

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. (System.Data)

This error comes when you try to import data from Excel into SQL Server using Import and Export wizard. When you get this error, you can follow below steps :

Step 1: Go to Microsoft's download center website and  download microsoft access database engine.

Step 2.  Download Microsoft Access database engine 2010 Redistributable.

Step 3. Check for the Version of Microsoft Office you are using. I was using 32 bit hence I downloaded AccessDatabaseEngine.exe.

Step 4. Install the database engine on your system.

Step 5. Restart SQL server and try importing data from Excel using import and export wizard. It worked for me. If you are still  getting error do let me know in the comments section below.
