Setting up URL Destination Goals in Google Analytics

Now lets understand a few things about URL destination goals. While setting up URL destination goals, we just need to use the required URI and not complete URL.
For example: I want to set up a URL destination goal for http://understandingbi.blogspot.com/2014/03/goals-in-google-analytics-part-2.html. I just need to use /2014/03/goals-in-google-analytics-part-2.html as my destination goal rather than the complete address.

There are basically three types of URL destination goals
.
1.) Header Match: Header match is usually used when you want to track the visits to a particular subdirectory of your website, i.e. If I use /2014/03/ then all the pages which are present in this particular subdirectory will be tracked.

For example: In this type of goals all of the below pages will be tracked:
/2014/03/goals-in-google-analytics-part-2.html
/2014/03/goals-in-google-analytics.html
/2014/03/account-and-user-management-in-google.html
But pages like /2014/02/some-basics-of-google-analytics.html and /2014/02/cookies-used-by-google-analytics-part-1.html will not be tracked.

2.) Exact Match: Exact match is usually used when you want a specific page to be tracked as a goal. For example: You created a particular page recently on your website and want to check how many times that particular page was visited you can set this type of goal.

In the above screenshot, you can see that only /2014/03/goals-in-google-analytics-part-2.html is the page which I want to track.

3.) Regular Expressions:
This type is the most flexible match type of all. Using this match type, you can track several pages using different conditions.

Now here you can see that using the above regular expression, we can track pages having keywords "Goals", "Google" and "Funnels" of our website.
