How to set up a Google Analytics account and link it to your website/Blog
For this, first you need to create accounts
with google analytics
Step 1: Go to http://www.google.com/analytics/

Click on create account
Step 3. Enter your gmail login and password
details
Step 4. Start using Google Analytics box, click on the Sign Up button.

Step 6. Select tracking method as Classic Analytics
Step 7. Setting up your Account:
Enter
Account Name: This Name will appear in your Google Analytics Account
Website
Name: Since you can track Multiple websites/blog give a name which relates
to your website/blog
Step 8. Once all the details are filled in,
click on Get Tracking ID button.
Now the Account has been created and you
will get a tracking id starting with UA – xxxxxxxx-x
Step 9. On Scrolling down you will see a
tracking code. Copy the entire code and paste it in a notepad.
Step 11. Now Under Live on Blog, Click on Edit
HTML button.
Step 12. Now Paste the tracking code which
you copied from Google Analytics account

Step 13. Click on Save template button.
Here keep in mind, any time you change template of your blog, you need to paste the tracking code in your html if it is not appearing in it.

Step 14. Sign out of your Google Analytics
Account and wait for 15 Mins.
Step 15. After 15 mins, sign in to your
google analytics account and Home Screen under your website name, click on All Web Site Data.
Step 16. Now click on the Admin tab situated at the top.
Step 17. Under PROPERTY Column click on Tracking
info.
Here you should see status as either Receiving Data or Tracking Installed.
If you are getting status as “Tracking Not Installed” then
something is wrong or you missed some steps.
Now your Google Analytics Account is set up
and now you can start using Google Analytics to understanding the traffic flow
to your blog/website. :)
